Anyone can become a donor of G.B.D. Calamari. If you would like to stimulate scuba diving or increase attention to underwater biology, the Groninger Biologists Diving Club is the place to be. We offer scuba diving courses to students and alumni with volunteer instructors and focus a lot of attention to the underwater biology course, which is followed by both students and other divers.
The minimum donation is €27.50. For that, you'll receive our clubs magazine, the Pd, three times a year. You'll also be able to use our compressor and you'll naturally be welcome to join us on our diving weekends to Zeeland. These are organised 4 to 5 times a year. If you don't have your own diving gear, you can purchase a diving gear subscription to be able to borrow this from the club.
As a donor, you can also become or stay a member of the Dutch Underwater Sports Union (NOB) via G.B.D. Calamari. The unions contribution will be charged yearly and you'll receive the diving magazine Onderwatersport. If you have any questions you can always send an e-mail to our secretary. For financial questions, you can contact our treasurer. Both can be reached via our contact page.
Diving gear subscription
Donors have the possibility to rent club diving gear from G.B.D. Calamari. For a one time usage, the price is €20,-.
If you've been a member for at least 2 years, you have the option to purchase a diving gear subscription. This subscription costs €40,- (minus the potentially earlier paid €20,-) and is valid for an entire year. It is also possible to purchase this subscription right away if you're eligible, instead of paying the €20,- for the first time usage.
For more information and to reserve diving gear, you can contact our secretary.
